Fresh acoustical specialities to the New Year from Sweden in Swedish: The singer of Emerald Park, Tobias Borelius, strolls on winter solo paths. "Du känner mig för väl, farväl" sounds a little bit from the feeling like "Fuck off and Goodbye!", but the official correct translation is, of course "You know me too well, Farewell" Maybe the same thing? Thematically, there shines through somehow melancholy which is confirmed to pleasant indie pop music, lyric, but not without edges.

Produced in Malmö enhanced by the presence of several Swedish musicians and the producer Carl Granberg, there runs like a nostalgic recognition through the album - in addition to the bright, clear voice of the singer - the dominant queer sounds of an old analog synthesizer (Nord Lead). The songs are short, create an intimate atmosphere and build up dreamy melody and a certain gentle lightness that would like to drift sometimes to almost relaxed Trip Hop.

And next to the Swedish language - what makes a big difference to the songs of Emerald Park - it sounds specifically Scandinavian. Engineering, programming and synthetics drag the Nordic folk-like sound in a modern-style dance club atmosphere. Non-Swedes could feel put in an anti-Caribbean-exotism and imagine from the the middle of January on shimmering northern lights and lonely grazing reindeers beside a steaming grog.
