Two years has passed since Eden´s Curse released their last album “The Second Coming”. Now the multicultural band around American singer Michael Eden is ready to conquer the Melodic Metal world with their next album “Trinity”, again produced by long term engineer Dennis Ward (Krokus, Allen & Lande, Pink Cream 69). The line-up is completed by German guitarist Thorsten Koehne, Scotsman Paul Logue on bass, English drummer Pete Newdeck and Italian Alessandro Del Vecchio on keyboards.

The album is a delight for Melodic Metal fans, from the beginning to the end, and more powerful than its predecessor, flirting with the Hard Rock genre in some songs. The title track is really the perfect opener for the album! A speedy number with amazing riffs, great drumming and an extremely catchy chorus. However, “Saints of tomorrow” is the undisputed highlight of the album, in my opinion. Here the melodic keyboard lines really stand out and give a special flair to this number, full of great harmonies which stick to your brain immediately. “No Holy Man” is a mid-tempo track featuring Dream Theater´s vocalist James La Brie. Beautiful guitar riffs, a great melody and iconic keyboard parts perfectly complement La Brie´s voice. Also one of my favourites. “Guardian Angel” is then again a soft metal ballad, quite good but a bit cheesy.

“Can´t Fool the Devil” is another very catchy, speedy number with cool backing vocals and perfect bass/drumming. One of the heaviest on the album. “Rivers of Destiny” is another mid-tempo song, with soft keyboard melodies, a great Hard Rock touch and a nice sing along chorus. “Dare To Be Different ” is a groovy song with powerful riffs, cool lyrics and again, very catchy and with nice melodic keyboard lines.

“Children of the Tide” has a beautiful intro with acoustic guitar, progressive keyboard lines and epic choir, turning into a powerful mid-tempo number full of cool riffs. “Black Widow” is a heavy entry with a slightly symphonic touch, featuring Mr. Andi Deris, Helloween´s frontman. The two vocals are a perfect fit, one is clean (Michael) and the other more guttural (Andi). “Jerusalem sleeps” starts with zithers, giving the track a special oriental flair, and turns out to be a powerful hell of a song!

The band also covered Dio’s “Rock ‘N’ Roll Children” adding their own mojo to it, which works just fine! A great ode to Ronnie James Dio! And a great album overall! A Must-Have for all Melodic Metal/ Hard Rock fans!
