Admittedly Industrial Metal is not quite my first-genre-of-choice, but occasionally I enjoy Electro sounds, especially when those are combined with tough Metal riffs. And also have such ear candy quality, just like this third longplayer of US machine rockers 16Volt (mixed by Shaun Thingvold - Strapping Young Lad, Front Line Assembly, Lamb of God). A peculiar cross over of several Electro icons, IŽd say, musically thereŽs some NIN (e.g. Beating Dead Horses, Fight or Flight) as well as Rob Zombie, whereas band-mastermind Eric Powell vocally reminds of Devin Townsend. And the cynical-lyrical dimension could be by Ministry, or again NIN. Yet this band project does not offer an aggressive-demanding but rather "pop-style" easy going dimension. This is why those tracks just sneak into your audio-senses - and stay there (e.g. Burn, Breathing Water). Proably Genre experts scream "sell-out, shallow" or something - well, I like it.
