Mark Fox has worked his way up during his eight years as the lead singer of the Swiss band Shakra. After he left the band in 2009 to concentrate on this solo-career, it got quiet for a while around the exceptionally gifted singer. Now he is back with his own band FOX - and the other hard-rock bands in Switzerland have to get prepared. “2012“ is the name of the debut album, which is co-produced by no one else than old rocker Chris von Rohr (Krokus guitarist & producer). This 11 track CD is quite impressive. From the first to the last note, the album gets to the point. No matter if with rough songs like “Problem Child“ or ”Sell it to me“, or ballads like “Home Again“ - with his sound, Mark Fox always hits the mark. He also has a good hand with the choice of this band mates, Tony Castell on bass (ex-Krokus), Franky Fersino on guitar (ex-Krak and Gotthard) and drummer Reto Hirschi (ex-Treekillaz). Musically, FOX is rooted - similar to Shakra - in the Hard Rock genre, mixed with new elements. On the record there is also a brilliant cover of the 80´s hit “Beds are Burning“ by Midnight Oil, which is really nice to listen to in the Fox version. This is truly „Swiss Hard Rock at its best!“
