Sebastian Lind is a 23-year-old musician from Denmark, who has been writing, recording and producing music on his own for a few years. “I will follow” is his debut for a major label, a beautiful Pop album full of catchy tunes.
A little bit of Electronica, a little bit Singer/Songwriter, mixed sounds that I would consider pop music. Likeable music, that´s very listenable, but not without rough edges. Each song sounds different, has a different drive. The general mood is filled with subtle melancholia, without being depressing. Soft sounds are predominant, it never really gets loud, but these songs are not typical, interchangeable Pop ballads, i.e. none of them are corny or cheesy.
Sebastian Lind says he wants to make listeners curious about his music. Thus, he tells us which thoughts he had on the different lyrics and what they mean for him, but leaves it to us, to find our own meaning in them. He is inviting us to go on a journey with him. This works well, the music speaks for itself and the lyrics get me thinking. Personally I like “Still here”, “Unseen” and “Choose love” best, most of all because of the wonderful guitar melodies. Since the instrumentation on the album is so varied, everyone will have their own favorites. “I will follow” is a good start for sure and I´m looking forward to hear more from Sebastian Lind in the years to come.
