They claim to be the only Glam/Sleaze band on the African continent and live the 80´s lifestyle wholeheartedly. Beautiful women, a lot of naked skin on the record cover, in the booklet and on the website. Since 2005 the band has been making music, “How much snake can you take?” is the second album of the band from Pretoria, South Africa. Music-wise they follow their idols Mötley Crüe, Skid Row and Guns´n´Roses and those guys do this quite well. The songwriting of L.A. Cobra is already great and with the right promotion they should manage to become the absolute insiders´ tip among Sleaze fans from our latitude.

Guitar solos, catchy riffs and poisonous lyrics await the listener of this record. Don Cobra, singer and founder of the band represents this 80´s lifestyle with heart and soul. His voice might be not the strongest but it has an unbelievable recognition-factor. The songs where I really like his voice most are the quiet “What the Angels See” or the faster “Danger, Danger” and “Unbreakable”, which are also my recommendations for you on this record.

I think that one can expect big things from this band, if they manage to get off their continent and spread their music to the northern European countries and the USA. They work on their third record now, and you should listen to L.A. Cobra and find out for yourself that those guys rock!
