We used to say in Austria “the higher the mountains the more brutal the music”, thus Before The Fall should be coming from the highest peak in the Alps...for this record even your ears need balls.

Now seriously, this band should not be entirely unknown as they played many gigs and their music was used in trailers of Red-Bull Air-Race and Motocross events. The second album was mixed and mastered by Danish star producer Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Rob Halford, Heaven Shall Burn, Ektomorf) and attacks your acoustic organs pretty fiercly right from the start. A Metalcore-Gothenburg Death Metal-Thrash mix, and after the first onslaught you even get some more groove, the reason why e.g. Destroy gains a certain catchy aspect. In general I like the band better when they mix styles within the songs, include melodies and even some tender-melancholic parts (On Your Knees, Crucified Perdition, Antibody) and not give a full-blast-treatment throughout a track. Blood Tsunami and Never Been Born even feature some Black-Metal-like epic-symphonic touch – such style variety and experimenting might be the ingredients to distinguish Before the Fall from other bands in the genre – in my opinion they are not quite there with this album yet.

In any case, I can recommend it to all those who rather enjoy a less calm and peaceful X-mas-time.
