The new EP of this former Finnish STALKER Fresh Act provides another good dose of misanthropy, musically exploring the crossover-areas between Doom and (epic) Black Metal. The opener Welcome to War celebrates Black Sabbath, before the doomy grooves, spiced up with some blast beats, take over. House Of Shadows becomes really catchy in a sinister way not despite but because of the pure hatred in the vocals it even has some hit potential. The tender intro of The Crown Of The Bled Eyes seems like the calm before the storm well, its not going to be THAT disastrous, as this song can probably be defined as the most Doom, with a bow towards desert Stoner Rock. This is my favorite track here, with aggressive vocals, variety and an epic touch, again blast beats are kept sparse just to raise the intensity of this song. Final Dawn show that they developed further, and I hope that this band will receive a bit more attention (and live gigs) after this release. A real good production for a do-it-yourself product, therefore I can only recommend to check out this EP.
