Pike`s Edge is the project or you could even say the own band of guitarist/vocalist Mujkic “Pike” Fikret, who is well-known in the German underground scene from bands like Eisbach and Wild Scream. With Pike`s Edge, he writes his own music, reflecting on his past when he was a refugee from Bosnia.

It is quite hard to put “Nameless” into a certain genre. The basic ingredients are classic Heavy Metal and Thrash Metal, without exhausting the double bass to the extreme. And there are also some parts of a variety of Rock styles and even some folklore elements, especially in the melody lines. But the most difficult thing to digest are the vocals. Pike does not sing like other Heavy Metal singers and he does not shout like Thrash shouter either. Actually, he is somewhere in between and this gives the sound something special. On the other hand, it makes the album also hard to consume and understand.

All in all, “Nameless” is an interesting album, which needs some time to work. Especially the first half of the album works quite well after some time. But when listening to the whole album, it gets very tough during the 2nd half. Also because of the strange vocals.
