Three years after the first release of the band, Colossus of Destiny publish their debut album, which was recorded by Francis Caste (Zuul Fx, Kickback, Aqume…) at Studio Saint Marthe. Those guys from Paris, France, are certainly appealing to an international audience – to everybody who likes their Metal really tough with a touch of the extreme. They combine the urgency of Primordial – not only regarding the shout vocals of Mathieu M. but also the massive riffing – with some Thrash and the complexity of Prog. And even some traditional Metal influences can be heard (Unleashed). Naked & Unbound is a true masterpiece that could be the band´s hit single. The title track coming as second to last track finally offers some moderate sounds and time to breathe for the listener – maybe that´s the only thing I get to complain about, there should have been more “breathing” moments, and maybe sooner. Therefore I don´t even mind the 30min playtime (when defining this release as an EP, this is a lot, though). Listening to such aggression/passion overkill makes me feel stressed out...
