The Hamburg Chris Harms, grew up with cello and classical music, has gained experience as a singer, guitarist and songwriter in several bands as Philiae, The Pleasures, Unterart or Big Boy before the dark rock band Lord Of The Lost has found a growing number of fans and much attention and recognition since 2007 by international touring.
But now - since 2012 and now in 2014 with debut album on the market - he introduces his latest project, in which he realized the music ideas that he can not accommodate at Lord Of The Lost. First of all, with German lyrics, partly written by him, partly written by his bass player Benjamin Lawrenz and in the cover of the song "Das Narrenschiff” (The Ship of Fools) by Reinhard Mey. The musicians of this project - that simple and a little bit retro is named Harms&Kapelle - participated with different musical ideas that have been processed by him, mingled with his traits and ultimately leaded into an exciting symbiosis of a kind of dark Rock`n´Roll with country and rockabilly elements. The calm, sonorous singing with melodic hooklines keeps the different references together.
Guest musicians joined the album as Le Comte Caspar from the band Coppelius with his clarinet and light klezmer overtones and The Schulz of the band Unzucht, who participated in the writing of two songs and also sings in one of them. The sound has something spontaneous, because some parts were recorded only once and immediately hit the right climate, and here and there small licks from the living room prephase were mingled inside, which creates a certain live attitude. The bottom line: this is an excellent new album on the German Rock market.
