Since their 2010 release „Solace Through Lies”, a lot has happened in the Contorsion camp. Besides gaining valuable live experience, the line-up changed: new on guitar is Jon Schnider, who already plucked the strings with Hellvetica. The album with ten new songs from the Swiss Thrashers is called “Planet Parasite” and, thematically, it´s about the exploitation and destruction of the earth and its inhabitants, who are actually the ones responsible for it. Also, the lyrics touch everyday problems, things that make our lives harder. Music-wise, the band has a lot to offer: absolutely great riffs, ingenious grooves - melodious Thrash Metal of the best quality. Singer, Marc Torretti, worked on his dirty voice even more and now the songs pump brilliantly out of the speakers. Also people who like their Thrash a bit harder will be happy because there are also brute songs like “Big Shot” or “Fade into Oblivion”. Guitar solos are, of course, also present - Sime Freiburghaus and Jon Schnider are the right guys for that job. Also on drums and bass (Dani Bürkli and Mättu Eschmann) show what they got and thus, take care of the songs´ final touches. For me, “Planet Parasite” is the best Thrash record in a long time and because of that there is only one recommendation: Buy, Buy, Buy!!
