The Englishman of LostAlone received rave reviews for their last record „Iīm A UFO in this City“; critics prophesied immediate breakthrough and success. But despite being on tour with My Chemical Romance, Evanescence and 30 Seconds to Mars, success never came. As we all know, this unfortunately happens to so many talented bands and itīs a pity. Still, as a band you should never give up and keep on doing what youīre doing because the right moment for the breakthrough can come at any time. Funnily, the gentlemen from the county Derbyshire donīt really do the same kind of music as their tour buddies; Iīd rather compare them to their fellow countrymen, Coldplay. Itīs Pop-Rock, with the bigger emphasis on Pop. Vocalist Stevenīs very recognizable voice makes the songs extra special. Itīs cheerful, simple music that you can listen to over and over again. There are many different songs on their new record called Shapes of Screams – Pop-Rock elements intermingle with sounds from the 60s, Iīd say. LostAlone sound very British. Cool melodies enwrap sometimes not so funny topics like envy, mental health and others. Iīm not sure whether LostAlone are doing the right music, at the right time now but as long as they enjoy what they are doing, thatīs fine. And they clearly do. I think itīs much better to do what you like than trying to jump on the latest bandwagon and bend your music into shape... and then scream.
