Mister Gasser seems to burst with inspiration. His last record, “Retribution”, is out for a bit over a year and he already releases his next 12-song album. “Flicker” delivers pure Rock. While the last album had some points here and there that I didn´t like, this album is great from start to finish. That´s how an album should sound! The heavily-bluesy parts have made way for groovy rock songs. The way the songs are composed is always the same, making all songs sound similar, but this is not too bad because those are good songs. And also vocal-wise: Mr. Gasser might not be a very variable singer but his rough voice is certainly fascinating. Fans of Doro Pesch will be happy to hear that Gasser recorded the duet “Fire on my Mind” with her for this album. By the way, Doro is also the star of Gasser´s movie trilogy “ANUK”, for which Gasser just finished shooting episode two and three. Gasser will also support Doro on her 30 Years – Strong & Proud tour and perhaps a few lucky ones can watch them perform the song together on stage. No matter if it´s “Not a long way Down”, “Flicker” or “Cold hearted Woman”, Gasser simply knows how to rock. “Flicker” is a great record, which I can only recommend to every Rock fan.
