In 2011, Hellvetica from Switzerland released their first long player titled „Your Last Breath“, which received great reviews from everywhere. The band hailing from Lenzburg has already been around for ten years and to celebrate their tenth anniversary, the band published a new EP called “Deadly Eyes”. On it, there are six new songs, played by one or the other new band member, who can show their skills on drums, bass and guitar. The bassist, by the way, is the band´s first girl. Like always, the music is rough and straight-to-the-point with less solos than before, unfortunately. It seems to be a bit heavier, too, but that might also be because I haven´t´ listened to Death/Thrash Metal very much, lately. The EP is not as varied as the album but, still, there are, again, some great new songs. That some of them sound a bit similar is not such a bad thing because you can be sure, Hellvetica know what they do. My personal favorite is “Take Back My Life”; I like the deep growls better than the higher, aggressive vocals. “Deadly Eyes” with its six awesome songs is a record you definitely shouldn´t miss.
