OK a little guessing game – a band from Bergen, Norway, which genre? Haha, WRONG – this is clearly not a bunch of guys who would go shopping for corpsepaint... In other words, there is anything but Black Metal to be found on this album, the third release of Krakow. I would maybe describe my overall impression as a crossover of Doom Metal and, well, Pink Floyd. Epic and experimental, slightly off the trodden paths yet never chaotic, the major part of songs carried by clean vocals (hence Pink Floyd comes to mind). “Of Earth” confronts you with a more sinister yet still epic atmosphere, before the final “Ten Silent Circles” combine and transcend what was presented before... Or as the band puts it: “There is darkness and light, there is heaviness and there is air” - yup!

I had praised this band before, and also for this album they deserve top rating – although I find it not as easily accessible as the predecessor “diin”. Which just makes it even more interesting...
