The name Arafel is surely not known to most of the local headbangers. The band is a black metal band originating from Russia, living in Israel, playing with guest- and session-musicians from Israel and Poland. All good? That’s what I call multi-cultural! The Russian Israeli don’t just contribute their part to the international understanding, but are absolutely able to play instruments and write songs. Arafel sound like a mixture of Cradle of Filth (vocals and riffs) and Iron Maiden (soli and melodies), refined with a portion of strings à la Finntroll. The production of this record is pretty good as well (with few deductions for the drumsound) I’d also recommend non-black-metallers to check out Arafel.
