Nowadays you can find the most diverse pieces of music on offer. It´s all the more remarkable when there´s a band who really manages it to produce an album that makes you want to rub your ears in astonishment and which you can´t assign to any genre at all. The Austrians Gasmac Gilmore are such a band.
How does this actually sound like? Diverse! Here you find southern influences, in the next moment they feel at home in more heavy regions, then again you hear sprechgesang that quickly gives way for strings, followed by polka-like rhythms that in turn nicely merge with metal. Shortly: it´s very, very odd.
My highlight is still the last track „Zirkus“[Circus]. The song sounds exactly like what the title suggests and by now no one will be surprised that there´s only an accordion employed.
Summary: I suggest Gasmac Gilmore as a support band for Eläkeläiset, even though the lyrics of the former are maybe a bit more sophisticated…
