I have to admit that before Lord of the Rings I had no idea about New Zealand, and even less about the local Metal scene... and just that would be reason enough to check out this band. Another reason is their sledgehammer-sound; it´s not Death, not Speed, not Hardcore, not Power Metal, but a little bit of all that. Pure adrenaline in the form of a CD! Superheavy but also supermelodious; singer Jon sounds like a Rob Halford-Blackie Lawless hybrid, but also Amorphis or The Darkness (!). Incredible!! If all New Zealand bands are like that, the big Metal business can be happy that only Monsterworks moved to England... a must!
