Panic is an American hardcore punk band that split up before they ever made it big, but re-united last year to play at a Dutch HC festival. This then led to a newfound interest in playing together and they are now back with the new EP Circles.

Although musically Panic might not have anything new to offer they´re still a fresh breeze in today´s stale and pompous rock scene. With most songs less than two minutes long their music is like energy bursts that can at any second get out of control. But still, in spite of all this energy, the songs leave you kind of cold as there´s quite little to grasp. Unfortunately the singers voice is somewhere between Udo Dirkschneider and the classic Kenny Everett punk character Gizzard Puke. This doesn´t leave much room for any possible melody, so the vocals are more like machinegun recitals even if the music itself is quite melodic for hardcore punk.

But you won´t have time to get bored with this as the songs and the EP (and possibly even the bands tolerance) are over before you know it.
