Oh, how happy I am to find that the great tradition of American hardcore is everything but dead! This album takes me right back to 10 years ago when I was jumping around to bands like Biohazard, Henry Rollins Band and Helmet. No BS! Just pure aggressive east coast HC!
If youīre familiar and in to this kind of music I guess thereīs nothing I need to tell you about this but for the rest I guess a few comments are in order. Outlive sticks to itīs concept almost religiously without ever straying from the chosen path. No big surprises either in the song writing or the playing but, even if that sometimes could be welcomed, thatīs not what this music is about. Itīs brutal and fast like a drilling machine and it hits like a hammer. Guns Up! isnīt even trying to please crowds outside the hardcore scene but definitely do their best to satisfy those who are in to it. The biggest downside is the shortness of the album but then again it wonīt give you time to get bored with it but rather leaves you hungry for more
