Even the cover gives the idea that the Finns are taking their listeners into very particular sound spheres: Somehow seductive, somehow exciting, somehow threatening, and we have already captured the essence – Gothic Metal that touches the weary soul. Heavy orchestral violin arrangements with a combination of soprano and male vocals. Who thinks of Nightwish now isn´t that wrong because Mastermind Tuomas was included in the production process of “Seducia”.
Still Silentivm keep in calm waters and cannot really be compared with the opulent bombast of Nightwish. But the bitter sweet, slightly morbid Gothic basis is there, celli cause pleasant shivers, and that´s it for a Symphonic Metal piece.
The Finns have to take care with their sweet tunes that their works don´t become Kitsch, there is the danger that they want too much with their complex song structures... although some parts are aggressive and energetic the riffs are covered up by orchestra sounds and remain in the background. Still, who likes bitter sweet candy will enjoy it...
