“Aeternum Vale” – “Farewell Forever” – is actually a debut solo project of a multitalented Johan Erickson (Draconian). Doom Metallers would be especially attracted to the dark cover art of this album, so simple, yet mysterious, creating an immediate atmosphere of the record.
However unfitting this may sound, but the growling accompanied by such fine beautiful melodies contribute to an incredibly touching and deep sound overall. Very interesting vocal combination on “Empire of the Fallen” (the ´shortest´ track - ´only´ five minutes!) will surely catch the listener, as this is not so common in the genre to mix clean fine female vocals along with this kind of doomed growling.
