With „Tomorrow I´ll Play God“ this quintet delivers a consistently convincing new record. The eleven songs are very varied and stirring. In particular the song „Appetite at first sight“ sounds as if these guys have years and years of experience as musicians. As is customary these days the lyrics are in english, which fits the music. Unfortunately singer Chris Dumhard has quite a strong German accent at times. With most of the songs, that's not really a problem, but during „Inside of me“ it does get a little annoying.
Musically there are paralells with Nickelback, Staind and also HIM („Fighting in the Name of Rock´n´Roll“). All of these influences combined with two or three punky melodic parts form this new album. Most of the German rock bands that are springing up like mushrooms at the moment, aren't really worth taking much notice of; the 5Bugs on the other hand deserve not to seink back into oblivion.
