Wow, it is difficult to believe that this is the debut album of a quartet that has hardly reached their mid-twenties yet. The song material sounds so professional and sophisticated, and gets straight into your face... Although they are from the USA, luckily Sanctity has nothing to do with Nu-Metal. Just the opposite, they are rather Old-School oriented: Old School Thrash, Old-School Metal with some Speed Metal and a portion of Power Metal regarding the chorus harmonies. Singer and guitarist Jared MacEachern has a dirty-rough Motörhead-Lemmy attitude but somehow also reminds me of Max Cavalera (Ex-Sepultura, Soulfly), perhaps because of the dark quality of his voice. He and Zeff Childress (git), Derek Anderson (b) und Jeremy London (dr) slap our ears with riffs of Priest´s „Painkiller“ quality, or like good-old-days-Metallica (just the intro for „Laws Of Reason“), and this groove makes it impossible not to start headbanging with a grin on your face... Merciless ear candy: „Beneath The Machine“, „Billy Seals“, „Zeppo“ oder „The Rift Between“, in fact all of those 12 songs are good - also the cover looks cool, no chance to find anything for a complaint! Therefore
