Being a regular festival attendant I could not avoid seeing those Abandoned guys from the German “Bay Area” Hessen more often, and their live shows at Earthshaker Festival, Rock Hard Festival or Bang Your Head Festival made their impression... they made you wonder what would happen next. This new second album has the simple title Fuck You, err Thrash You.
Their demo “Misantrope” and their debut album “Thrash Notes” got very good reviews from national and international press. This should continue with the new album. Thrash with a strong Bay Area influence that hits you in the face. The production sounds very modern, not old-fashioned, as you might think! The band knows how to include Slayer and Testament into their sound without copying them. Eric, Holger, Günt and Konrad seem to be very goal oriented and just go for it. A clever move to attract new fans without losing the old ones. Who is into aggressive double bass and riff attacks should just get this record. 14 songs I found very entertaining.
