Krasty from Ungenach in Austria play together since 2003 and are now releasing their debut album “Voice as a Weapon”. The sextet once started as a ska band, however, from that time not much is left. The guys have reoriented themselves and are now playing rather metalcore with a punky note. Krasty are embracing the typical metalcore sound with its clean vocal and scream parts, only the trumpet gives the sound a special flavor. None of the songs really stick and in times in which metalcore belongs to a slightly overcrowded genre it’s advised to tinker with the sound one more time. Lyrically seen and as the album title indicates, the album is not about the boy-meets-girl topic but there are words like politics, respect, freedom and so on that pop up. For a debut album it’s okay – there’s still time to develop the sound so that the message can be spread to a bigger crowd.
