It is difficult to write something about a re-release... Agathocles are among the cult acts of Death Metal/Grindcore genre, founded 1988 in Belgium. After various line-up changes finally their album „Theatric symbolization of Life“ was released in 1991, now remastered and renewed it is re-released by Displeased. A complete live show at Netwerk-club in Aalst from 1990 is offered as a bonus, yet you should not expect too much soundwise... Classical Death/Grind, with both Blastbeats and groove, and also some experiments, e.g. when a poem reading is included into „The Tree“. That means, this raw milestone of Grind history is a must for genre fans anyway, and also the younger DM generation might find it interesting to investigate: Who inspired e.g. Six Feet Under?
