My first impression of this album of the Finnish band was a little bit cheesy. I thought that the guitar player seemed a little annoyed, because he had had too much time to rehearse and tune effects. I would compare it with “Sex and Religion” of Steve Vai and Devin Townsend. Those Twilightning guys are able to pull it off, and they have done it for at least a couple of years.
That was my first impression, but we often get fooled by playlists these days. No use for that regarding this album. You have to listen to it from the beginning to the end, and just once is not enough. Like in those good old times, when we had to stand up after half of the album was played, and turn it over.

Meanwhile I became a real “Swinelord-Junkie”. I went with, or better - without, this recording through heaven and hell. The CD survived two Computer-crashes and a tenancy change, got lost several times, but found at last, and I listened to it over and over and over again. And this thing grew even better.

It´s just like you meet somewhere some old friend, one of those you really like, by surprise. You feel warmth in your chest, at every song is like one of those old friends. If you listen real hard you will feel those butterflies in your stomach. If not, you are not really audiophile. And those friends come again and again.

This is a high-fidelity production. I don´t know if it´s useful, but maybe they had to do this because of the details. Swinelords is an album full of hidden treasures, you find Mandolins, Devins: “heyyeahyeah…” or Rippers: “yeah the gun to make justice for…” and just around the corner it sounds like Eddie van Halen playing guitar to touch down at 2007 with “not a word”. It´s one of the best albums in the last 25 years.

Personally I like rough productions best, but Swinelords is perfect. My buddy dirty old mole said:” If Bon Jovi were as angry when they where recorded “Slippery When Wet” or “New Jersey”, they would sound like that.” No one can say anything against New Jersey, or Mr. Gigolo?
It´s good to have those positive moods from the past back in Rock music. And I never gave a shit if you call it Metal or Rock, for me its all Blues. Maybe a little rebellion could sound good… Why have critics always to complain about things they actually like?

Fly the flag and all elks high, let them play at Dynamo!

And if there is someone who doesn´t go with it, has to do it better him/herself!

Hey yeah yeah
