Everyone who has missed to watch the re-union of the metal legend live, can now have a tast of it in the own living room. And on could really think to have missed something. The priests present a incredible production in the Tokio Budokan, with higher-than-average qualit concerning sight and sound. The band seems to have fun with it, and so there is nothing to be complained about about their play. But this does not count for Rob Halford. The Metal God seems to have seen his best days concerning voice and condition. Especially towards the end he hardly ever reaches the otherwise typical high screams, and seems also otherwise quite strained and can’t reach his old shape. Next disappointment is the lack of any bonus material (at least in the promo version, but also the info leaflet does not state anything about it). There would have been quite some possibilities for dokumentation.
Alle, die die Wiedervereinigung der Metal-Legende live verpasst haben, können sich jetzt im heimischen Wohnzimmer ein Bild davon machen. Und man könnte wirklich glauben, etwas verpasst zu haben. Die Priester fahren im Tokioer Budokan eine mörder Produktion, in qualitativ überdurchschnittlicher Qualität ins Bild gesetzt, und auch der Sound kann sich hören lassen. Die Band scheint auch richt Spaß an der Sache zu haben und so lässt sich auch über die spielerische Leistung nicht meckern. Das gilt allerdings nicht für Rob Halford. Der Metal-God scheint stimmlich wie konditionell seine besten Tage hinter sich zu haben. Besonders gegen Ende schafft man kaum noch die sonst so typischen Hochfrequenzschreie und wirkt auch sonst mehr als angestrengt und erreicht nur selten alte Form. Nächster Wehmutstropfen ist das Fehlen jeglichen Bonusmaterials (zumindest in der Promo-Fassung doch auch im Infoblatt finden sich keinerlei Hinweise). Dabei hätte sich in diesem Falle doch so einiges an Dokumentationen angeboten.
