Table-hockey is not just a hobby, so they say in Helsinki ...
The eight annual Monsters Of Puck-rock table hockey championship was held once again at Nosturi with the evening climaxing in performances by Naked and Mind Of Doll. With a wide range of Finnish music personalities participating, including members of bands like Amorphis and Ajattara, the competition turned out to be a real thriller. The prestigious cup was finally taken home by BV˛ Productions front man Kari Heikonen, for whom this was already his third title. (AP)

Mind Of Doll
Quite punctually the Dolls started with their hit single Marks On My Face (also their new video) an energetic show with a set that focused on the new album “Low Life Heroes”: Lack Of Chance, Sick Girl Sad Case, Living On The Edge, but also some older stuff. Visa Heinonen proved to be an excellent singer and live-entertainer, who already impressed the STALKER crew as vocalist in the band “Kings Of Fool” (see our Helldone Festival review). It was impossible to stand still with such fiery Rock fuel coming from the speakers, several people even left the beer area in the back of the hall and rushed to the stage, and many of those remaining at the bar could be heard singing along – the Dolls are indeed a band to be reckoned with! As the screeching level in the front rows became almost unbearable, I have to assume that this quartet from Helsinki is already quite popular with the girls… And in terms of show and entertainment, those guys know indeed how to rock, with a good dose of Glam, Hollywood and humour. A Hanoi Rocks / Tokio Hotel cross over, musically and visually. Still, the music wasn´t quite my taste, and I always had problems with guys who use more mascara and hairspray than I do … but if you want to have an entertaining evening, you should definitely check out The Muff (voc), Zak (git), Ilari (bass) & Mr. Tikka (drums).
