A few weeks ago the fourth Blake album was released in Finland, this time via Stay Heavy Records, and with a tendency to more melody. Are they going "commercial" also performance-wise?

Well, no, as those 4 Finns presented themselves again in a sinister atmosphere that reeks of motor oil and alcohol. With "Spirit Of Cain" and "Outsider" they kicked off with songs from the new Sa7urnus CD, naturally the focus of the program that was also spiced with Blake classics, like "Dryland", "Walk In". Was front man Aaro Seppovaara born with the Blues in his blood - or did he sell his soul at a crossroads? It sounds pretty convincing and believable when he sings about "dealing with the devil", and those riffs and licks are absolutely infectious. Charismatic and with evocative gestures he presents himself as the preacher of the dark side of life and definitely impressed the Tavastia audience. Sami Hassinen, Guitar, and Antero Aunesluoma, Bass, delivered a solid sound base but left the show mainly to their evil vocalist.

Technical problems occurred once in a while but did not put off the audience, and the band took it with dark humor. The more "commercial" approach of the new album gives Aaro the opportunity to explore his dark voice range, still the more epic track "More I Live" did not quite work out live . With "Wizard" they bowed to Black Sabbath, Ville Siuruainen presented a quick drum solo, then the end spurt featured "Hold" and "My Machine"; the classic "Son of Fire" finally had the crowd go crazy, but then it was over... Summary: Blake, like many other Finnish bands, will hardly disappoint you as live act.
