While the rest of Europe is suffocated by snow, Switzerland is drowning. Continuous rain turns streets into rivers, but still better than black ice. Poor Santas who are about to visit the kids today, yet we can visit nice and dry Z7 in order to check out Tiamat who dropped by on their EU tour – something like a special Saint Nicholas present.

Stoneman
As Intro Stoneman play the beautiful „No Sweet November“ in full length before they enter stage and continue with a much harder sound. The Swiss band surely has a hard time on this tour (and actually left it after playing in Hamburg, the ed.), they have to play first and at a time when most of the potential audience is still in a traffic jam, or assumes the gig starts later. But those 4 give it all to the people who are already here, a great show with a best of setlist of their 3 albums but also with new songs that work nicely live on stage: „White Star“, „Trail of Destruction“ or „Zombie Zoo“ just kick ass. Old hits like „Wer ficken will“ and „ Devil in a Gucci Dress“ got to be played, too, naturally. Despite the little crowd a great show.

Orden Ogan
I heard this band first 2 days before at Karlsruhe and had the impression then, that they do not really fit to the other bands. Well, in a certain way all 3 bands don´t really go together. But it was the first time that I saw a concert of this band who is praised in the media. Magazines like Metal Hammer call them the new successors of Blind Guardian – and well, this is rather exaggerated. Surely this is a question of taste, but sorry, not my taste, although their gig was a solid performance.

Tiamat
The hall filled up in the meantime with about 250 -300 people, and although this is not much for Z7, those give cheers as loud as a huge crowd. Tiamat present a well balanced and differentiated set list with their major hits. Singer Johan Edlund preserves his emotionless facial expression, yet in the end he can be spotted smiling. The crowd appreciated the gig, dancing and cheering througout the show.

Summary: Stoneman had a bad light, as usual, but it all in all it was a great evening, and I had rather wanted to see more of Stoneman and Tiamat.
