One of those band who has a very good reputation in their Finnish home country but haven´t quite made it to the top yet: Vanity Ink. Live the act fronted by Annabella always offers a nice party package, and also this time they got the Semifinal boiling within seconds.
Heavy rumbling Rock´n´Roll and a lot of fun, plus a dose of Garage Rock, this is how you get even those Finns dancing. During songs like Dirty Little Kiss, Any Day Now, Smell the Party and One Louder None Wiser the String-section (Juha, Miki and Jussi) posed as if they got paid extra for it. The undeniable focus remains, however, the singer with her original powerful voice... in other words, another nice gig of this band.
Spirits were high thanks to the support act, and the interest in Hellcity Punks seems to have risen due to their new single´s „Angelina Cries“ top 10 position in Radio Rock´s download charts. This time also the intro presenting their 2159 story worked (see STALKER interview ) Janze, Hooligan, Otto, Heikki and Dennis gave it all and rocked the club with e.g. If I Let It Go, Destructio and Sunday Saints; sweat was running not just on the stage. The mentioned song was rounding up the set – and due to the early morning hour requests for encore could not be answered. Cool gig, a bit too short for my taste...
