Right now you could split yourself into 5 parts, because bands are playing everywhere in Helsinki and naturally those you´d really like to see on the very same evening. This night offers Antagonist Zero at PRKL, then right around the Corner at the Casino The 69 Eyes play their Album Release Show, and at On the Rocks the Swedish Metal Band Sister Sin featuring singer Liv Jagrell is playing. A difficult decision which is surely easier for the guys. I have announced my visit weeks ago to Sister Sin, and no turning back – although I have to admit that I´ll be regretting this decision later.

The first band does not entertain a big crowd yet, because those guys are quite new, and very young – they probably would not be allowed into the club as guests. The quartet - Tom Nuorivaara, Juho Rinne, Otto Uotila and Jesse Mäläskä - plays Punkpop, as they call it. Their outfits and their music fits, and they also display a fancy banner with their band name Madcraft .

For a 2 year old band they are pretty good, and singer Tom draws attention with his charisma. Musically I am reminded of Blink-182, who I listened to when I was 12. I can imagine that Madcraft with their US music style might be successful in the States, but I´m not sure if this music is (still) popular here. The other question is the target audience – I doubt that people older than 25 will feel attracted.

Musically they are not bad, but there are still own input and song organisation missing. Everything seems a bit too chaotic, even for a Punk band. A bit more variation maybe, but the guys are on the right way.
In the meantime the club filled up – unfortunately, because if there are too many people in front of the stage, combined with the bad lighting situation it makes taking photos almost impossible. Who has never seen a show featuring a woman on stage should visit such a spectacle. There are guys who behave like hungry wolves launching forward – incredible, and I thought girls are too overly attached... Well, Sister Sin enter the stage and some males can hardly contain themselves when faced with the object of their desire. Poor Liv, those are the moments when I would not enjoy taking her place. The band plays some old songs like „One out of then“ and „On Parole“, some more recent stuff and some brand new from the album which is to be released on Oct 22.

The band give it all and mention again and again, how good it is to be back in Finland, although most people might have chosen the 69 Eyes Party, and that they give their best here. Well – I hope this was not their best. I saw the band live some years ago and was thrilled by the firecracker of a singer and her colleagues, but this show here is disappointing. I can understand that On the Rocks isn´t the best club and they are used to bigger venues – as support, not as headliner – but somehow I feel as if the band wasn´t 100% present. Moreover, Liv´s vocals don´t sound so natural any more, rather forded, to sound like „tough chick“. I miss the natural appeal of this band.

During the concert Liv has to fend off some way-too-eager male fans occasionally; one of them bumps into the mike stand, the microphone hits Liv and she ends up with a bloody lip. Very annoying, I wonder why some people simply cannot behave. Liv pulls through although you can see that she is in pain. The show ends in some chaos – some would like to play an encore, while others are backstage already – therefore no encore is played.

Summary – a pretty chaotic Gig, I hope it was an exception and not the rule.
