Hämatom

With Hämatom the first band of the evening launched into their 30-minute program at 7pm. Powerfully played metal with well-integrated breaks and many dynamic rhythm parts were the primary elements of their show.

The masks the guys wore were impressive and moreover, looked really vicious. On the drum kit hung headfirst a lonely, pitiful looking baby doll that shouldn’t stay alone for long because the likes of her would soon fly over the stage and the crowd.

The songs of Hämatom moved the crowd – in the truest sense of the word. Especially the catchy song „Leck mich“ that was shouted along by the crowd was a worthy „warm up“ for the Reiter.

Tyr

Tyr, whose album „Ragnarok“ was voted „Album Of The Month“ at Napalm Records, kicked off at 7:50pm. The Finns started their short guest appearance with a polyphonic singing intro to groovy drum beats only to then win over the crowd with the song „Wild Rover“.

During this song Hämatom’s singer Nord joined Tyr onstage. He belted out the German version of „Wild Rover“, which is „An Der Nordseeküste“, together with Tyr singer Heri. But not only Nord was onstage, also two bunnys were grooving along.

As a set-closer they played „The Hammer Of Thor“ at which the crowd went bonkers again before singer Heri gratefully bate his farewell to the crowd after about half an hour.

Die Apokalyptischen Reiter

At half past 8 the Grünspan was more than well-filled and Reiter-chants called THEM. Finally Die Apokalyptischen Reiter entered the stage: Fuchs turned up bare-footed, Dr. Pest wore his S/M mask and went straight into his cage, the guys appeared motivated and in high spirits. Then the show started with an epic intro directly followed by „Riders On The Storm“ from their latest album.

The sound was good, the lights complemented the weird-futuristic stage setting. With the followings songs „Barmherzigkeit“ and „Soldaten Dieser Erde“ the room temperature rose to tropic conditions, the drums fired rhythmic salvos to piercing guitar riffs. The young crowd exercised themselves in stagediving and one or the other was already out of air.

Towards the end of the song „Revolution“ Fuchs sent two girls, who were dancing onstage, to the doctor into the cage, entertained the crowd even more and breathed fire. To „We Will Never Die“ he then paced around the stage, jumped, rotated and at the same time shouted very precisely. When the song was over the crowd just sang on and on and then the band joined in again – an anthem that never ended.

When they played „Wenn Ich Träume“ Fuchs said that the sun shines in all our hearts and also out of our... exactly at that moment someone from the crowd jumped onstage and bared his naked behind – the crowd hooted, that was just perfect.

With „Seemann“ the first part of the show ended. Fuchs wore, fitting to the song, an eye-patch and swayed with the crowd to the quiet, melodic interludes. The Reiter launched without break into the encore part and for the song „Du Kleiner Wicht“ Fuchs encouraged the crowd to go bananas and that’s exactly what happened.

The moshpit exploded, some fans danced onstage before jumping into the crowd. As the set-closer the guys played a brilliant version of the hit song „ Genghis Khan“, everyone jumped and screamed one last time.

At 10pm the show was over, the Reiter moved on and the crowd could look back on an energy-laden show that can only be recommended to everyone.
