7 Deadly Sins
Lumi – frontman of Aberrant Vascular and Severnaja
Oh, this one won’t be easy. We have done many of this concept interviews before, but unlike the usual discussion on the idea of sins, this one is something else.
With Finnish precision and short-wordiness, yet with a lot of deep thought behind it all, Lumi commented on the 7 Deadly Sins. Lumi (translated from Finnish, “snow”) is the voice and lyrics behind two Finnish bands: post-apocalyptic Severnaja and very avant-garde and indefinable (our current Fresh Act) Aberrant Vascular. Both bands are still unknown and unsigned, but both are very much worthwhile hearing – different, deep and very memorable, unlike anything else you’ve heard from Finland before. You will have it on repeat, if you hear it once. I promise you that. Classic opera vocals, mixed with metal and electro and much more. There is a lot more to it than meets the eye, or the ear, at first try.
We are very non-commercial. We are not uninterested in getting signed, but we are equally unwilling to conform into something we are not.
We all need to stop and breathe from time to time. However to let yourself voluntarily fall asleep, as it were, takes away much of what has been accomplished so far.
Aberrant Vascular was not formed on an empty stomach.
I could envy the voice of Freddie Mercury or the genius of Mozart or the mind of Albert Einstein. So what would that give me? Nothing. But it would diminish my pleasure when I experience their individuality.
To envy someone is to deny the possibilities of the own self.
I do like it when a woman makes an effort to look the way I want her to. However, vanity as a lifestyle gives me a headache. And in any case, who decided that something is beautiful, while something else is not? Like Baudelaire, I look for beauty where it is not generally seen nor expected.
It is natural to be angry, but to give the anger a life on it´s own, makes you bitter and closed up. In the end. What were you really angry about? You can´t even remember.
Anger and negativity needs to be let through, but not acted upon.
dread poisons, but more dread the poisoned well
of thy green eyes accurst;
tarns where I watch my trembling soul, reversed
my dreams innumerable
throng to those bitter gulfs to slake their thirst.
Or as I somewhat simpler phrase it in Severnaja:
there´s no escape now
the deity is caught
You are Mine.
the fields of passion
aflame and burning
