After a magenta mobile phone provider has connected extreme sports successfully with music and organized so-called „street gigs“, another one pursues the same strategy. A “mobile” (double meaning!) hall tours five German cities, each for a little less than a month with events like comedy, fashion and of course, music. The most interesting point: it´s for free! The facts are announced only a few days before the show, all according to the "early bird" principle - in order to get in, you have to come early.
On the bill for the kick-off event: HIM from Finland, so the request was conceivably high. The fact that the venue as such can only take 1400 people didn´t make it easier and had the effect that the first fans arrived already at 6:00 in the morning. At 20.00 doors have to be closed as it´s completely full. What could only be surmised on the last tour in spring is affirmed when HIM enter the stage about 30 minutes later: the band is in excellent form. Relaxed, in a perfect mood and with Ville´s voice in a good shape the celebrating audience enjoys a set between old and new. When still a few years ago places like this often affected the quality of a show, everything is different tonight. Light and sound are on top, if not better than in a stationary venue. Finally the band goes on a trip back into a time when they didn´t have enough songs for a whole set. The crowd goes wild and with an explosive cover version of Billy Idol´s “Rebel Yell” HIM finish a great concert, to be remembered by the lucky ones who could be there.
