Good gracious! VELVETSEAL made with „opening” a perfect false start which made bad predictions for the rest of the album “lend me your wings”. Simple riffs, weak voice and lame songwriting make a bad mood and enlarge the wish to press the skip-button. “lend me your wings” shows that the band knows After Forever or Within Temptation and is capable to create more than this opener. The same is to say about the singer. Fortunately it goes on at this level. VELVETSEAL are not only able to hold the level of the third song, they also surprise with interesting ideas like the clear voice. This makes up for the bad start and shows how far VELVETSEAL get since their demo-tape.
