The first time I heard of Matthau Mikojan was when he was still the singer of Bloodpit. From the very beginning, I was excited about his very own way of singing and his vocal sounds. He is one of those singers, you would recognize among one thousand others. In the meantime, he has published his own bandīs fourth record. The Finn, whoīs from a very musical family, kept his fans waiting for four years for this new piece but now itīs finally here. His new album is called Her Foreign Language and itīs very versatile when it comes to musical styles. Hence, the song My Preference makes the listener think of a Southern rock band and then there are songs that are more like Pop/Rock or even Finnish schlager music. Matthau manages to give each song a very special feeling and this, without any morbid tendencies or overly melancholic excesses. Instead the listener gets nicely arranges songs with a relaxed attitude and a Country feel. Itīs easy to imagine, listening to the entire album while lying on the grass, watching the clouds pass by and just feeling happy. Itīs an album with lots of different songs, which you wonīt get bored of.
