Meanwhile Amorphis can look back upon a band-career of more than 10 years. Thus the expectations of the public, as well as the band are quite high. Especially as singer and long-time member Pasi Koskinen has left the band, and now Tomi Joutsen jumped abord... But nevermind: with "Eclipse" the band concentrated again on their roots, tending again more into dark metal and seems more creative than ever. With energetic, powerful tracks the Finns present a polished, melodic and multifaceted album. Songs like "House of Sleep", "Born from Fire" and "The Smoke" will get stuck in your ear right after the first notes. And with "Leaves Scar" or also "Under a Soil and a black Stone" the guys prove once again, that they are the absolute precursors in the symbiosis of different styles: folkloristic, medieval and ethno sounds combined with melodic vocals and neat growls were seldomly so sexy. The Finns seem to see it just the same, as the single „House of Sleep“ is high up in the charts...
