As four talented musical individuals Skyward are perhaps capable of creating something worthy, yet being in the same band together fails them all in my eyes. I´m not the first to be surprised by a daring statement at the back of the record that they are “staying true to their visions & ignoring the current trends” – from the first seconds of this album even a baby could tell which huge Finnish symphonic metal band this is extremely similar to! Skyward seriously lacks creativity, except maybe only their dark cover – black swan will definitely attract, but unfortunately mislead the listener: in this genre there are already quite a few interesting bands with much better quality sound, who´ve set pretty high standards for the newcomers. So then why would you settle for less and listen to Skyward? Disappointing.
