At the moment Ville Valo and his band of Finns are in the Paramount Studios in Los Angeles recording their next album "Love Metal". According to the singer the new album, once again produced by Tim Palmer, will contain among others "very fast songs with a melodic punk influence". Unfortunately that's all the information we have about the new material at the moment. Our colleagues from the islands are more fortunate, since they were able to pre-listen some of the new songs. During a gig in England, His Diabolical Highness was forced to suspend the show due to a power outage. Mr Valo spontaneously grabbed his guitar and presented the astonished audience with "Under the Rose" as an accoustic ballad.
Ville's fans can entertain themselves with the band's first ever live DVD while they wait for the new album to come out. The DVD contains over 5 hours of material - among other things all the music video's HIM ever made, as well as more than 25 live clips from 1998 to 2004, of which the older material is especially interesting. And to top it all off, extensive photo galleries, interviews and backstage footage.
In the menu you can find all the songs in chronological order as a discography. Every album has its own chapter and each chapter is divided into videos, live clips and extras. Besides live recordings of Viva Overdrive 1998, Berlin Arena 2000, Rock Am Ring 2001, Turku Caribia 2002, Hamburg 2003, Semifinaali 2003 and Tavastia 2004 there are some interesting extras, for example the accoustic gig in Cologne, „Join Me In Death“, „Rebel Yell“ live at the Provinssirock Festival 1999 and short interview sequences together with summaries of the band's history. Ville also provided some private anecdotes, which is quite uncharacteristic for this introverted singer. „Love Metal Archives Vol.1“ deserves the title of archive and will definitely satisfy the HIM-fan.
