Astaarth from France, a duo with Lord L Moloch (voc, Ex-Baphoments Throne) and Lord Goudebaud (all instruments) present here their first album after releasing two demos (1998, 2002). They worship the glory of Burgundy, as you can guess from the CD title. Pure Pagan/Folk Metal, sometimes orchestral orotundity, sometimes midieval dance tunes, introduced by battle sounds and songs. Additional instruments are e.g. bagpipe, accordeon, jew´s harp and flute, played by various guest musicians, with clean and Black Metal vocals in the style of Cradle-Dani. Also traditional songs from Burgundy area are included, but the instrumental tracks invite to dance, too, just like e. g. Finntroll´s. Not bad.
