I think that Tim ``Ripper`` Owens is one of the best singers in the Metal world. Judas Priest with Ripper were for me 1000 times better than with the aging Halford, ``The Glorious Burden`` of Iced Earth was brilliant because of those vocals, and also Tim´s "own" band Band Beyond Fear convinced with their first output.
What should go wrong with a solo-album? But once again the presumed pearl cannot keep the promises. Many songs have good ideas and melodies, but because of one-dimensional song structures the album seems half-baked and unfinished. There would have been potential to some songs, so how about a Bridge, an Intro or acoustic parts?
Unfortunately ``Play my Game`` (just like many other solo albums) cannot fulfil the expectations you had. Even musicians like Chris Caffery (Savatage) or Doug Aldrich (Dio, Whitesnake) cannot change that. What a pity!
