"The Daily Grind" was originally planned as an EP, but ended up as a full-length after the guys had been signed to Metalblade Records - well nevertheless quite a short CD with 33 minutes. Even though you might expect some Grindcore due to the cover and title of the record, it´s rather Deathcore the Anima guys from Thuringia are serving here - mostly brutal midtempo stuff like the titel track "The Daily Grind". Faster stuff can be found as well, like the following furiousness "Dismembered" shows pretty well - so they do forge ahead into Grindcore realms, at least when it comes to the tempo in some parts. As great as this madness must be, technically absolutely great and all that, there´s something this record lacks: some self-reliance to stick out of this totally flooded subgenre called Deathcore. So more own ideas next time and they´ll convince everyone with ease. Apart from that this CD will please fans of Job For A Cowboy, Whitechapel or Suicide Silence and similar bands.
