It’s well known: in Sweden – the country of dreamy grazing elks and silent lakes – some really violent brayers walk around, and M.A.N. demonstrates this irately with their new album “Massive Audio Nerve”. It must be because of the wrath which rise during the long, dark wintertime or because of the wish to get attention by roaring in the deserted wilderness of the forests. As vicious and wild like singer Tony JJ a Brazilian can’t never get it; that’s the reason why they like in South America the Salsa but in Sweden something like Rage Metal.
The brutal pound of shouting wrath is escorted by shredding guitar riffs and elaborated compositions full of ingenuity that touches zones of progressive metal. Not a dumb production just for banging the dust out of the manes. There is a lot to find even for the careful listener, because this angry vehemence flows through well designed channels and pleases with varying rhythms and a lot of strange, fascinating sounds. No reason to become bored.
A band from the stable of Tiefdruck Musik in Hamburg, who show once again their intuition to discover talents and powerful music. Nevertheless the CD´s cover doesn’t seem to fit, because it’s just too mild and fragile and doesn’t talk except to friends of soft violin-music – but those will be in danger to collapse with the first M.A.N.-notes.
