What happens when an Irishman and some Finns come together to make music? Well, we don´t know what really happens but the Damian Cullen Band shows us how it sounds like: Punk´n´Roll at its finest. Since 2009, Damian Cullen has been living in Helsinki and together with Misty Fingez, Pekko Mantzin and Wille Granö, he has been freshening up the music scene with a sound, at least I haven´t heard before in Finland. Damian himself sticks out of hundred other singers with his remarkable voice and that´s exactly what makes this band unique. After the release of “Popcorn Girl”, one was dying to hear new songs of the band, and now finally the waiting has come to an end: “Paves with good intentions” is a maxi single with four brand-new tracks. All the songs showcase the trademark of the Damien Cullen Band: the main point is to put every listener into a good mood, even when the lyrics are not that sunny: “Story of My Life”, “Wonderland”, “I don´t wanna play House” and the cover “It´s Cold Outside”, which has been originally released in 1967 by The Choir. The DCB version sounds fresh, up to date and has a lot of pep. A good choice for a coversong because the track has a beautiful melody and the simple lyrics easily convince everybody to sing along right away. But singing along shouldn´t be a problem with the other songs either. Let´s hope that the Damian Cullen Band can soon release a full-length album because their music means fun, party, good mood and Punk´n´Roll!
