Six years are indeed a long break. Who thinks that Svartahrid had been working on their new output during all this time, is totally wrong, because the 45 min featured on this new album "Sadness and Wrath" is five years old. The reason sounds weird, but hey, this is a Norwegian Black Metal band, so perhaps not: Bass player Ilvastar had vandalized a graveyard, got busted and went to jail. Well, what a pity. But back to "Sadness and Wrath", because this album is not that bad. Simple but good Black Metal with Rock elements, with Norwegian and English growls. As guest singer Ted Skjellum aka. Nocturno Culto (Darkthrone) can be heard at "Intensjon: Krig". More variety and individuality could have been great, but the album is still worth to be checked out.
