Some things never change! And thus is it also with Progheads of The Tangent. Only 6 songs can be found on their new work, but, how ever, they are extremly intensive and have extra-long playing times. While 6:22 are still relatively normal at the lower end, 19:10 are developing at the upper end already as exorbitant.
Musically the Englishmen offer here their whole stylistic scale: while 3 shorter compositions are still rather simple-structured and remind me almost of Easy-Listening-Music, 3 double-deckers develop as a full service in the matter of rock, blues and jazz. Prog as fuck! A concluded music study is helpful here to a better understanding anyway.
And because I have not studied anything like this, I prefer the shorter songs. However, those two different kinds of songs, and in particular their melodies, a really entertaining anyway.
